Superscript enters next phase of UK growth

We’re entering the next phase of growth at Superscript.
Over the past 12 months, we’ve delivered strong double-digit revenue growth, increased Gross Written Premium (GWP) — the total value of insurance policies we place — and expanded our national distribution footprint. We’ve grown partnerships by more than 25%, accelerated digital Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) demand and continued to outperform the market on customer satisfaction, maintaining a consistently strong Net Promoter Score.
That momentum gives us confidence, and now we’re building on it.
Hello, Glasgow

As part of our expansion and to support our existing presence in London and Rotterdam, we’re strengthening our regional capability across the UK by opening a new regional hub in Glasgow.
This will bring us closer to customers, deepen our broking expertise and create new opportunities for ambitious talent who want to shape the future of modern insurance distribution.
We’re scaling nationally, but we’re doing it with intention. Building high-performing teams in key regions is central to our ambition to become the employer of choice in the broker market.
Adding Gig Economy as a strategic pillar
We’re also formally adding the gig economy as a core strategic growth category, alongside our established SME, Landlord, Specialty and Advisory business.
The UK workforce is evolving rapidly. From e-bike riders to platform-enabled professionals, modern businesses are operating differently — and quickly. Following the launch of our e-bike rider insurance, we’re developing tailored propositions for the individuals and businesses driving this shift.
We believe the way businesses access insurance should reflect the realities of modern entrepreneurship. This strategic focus ensures we continue to build products, partnerships and service models around how people actually work today.
Strengthening our leadership team
To support this next phase, we’ve strengthened our leadership team through a series of senior promotions:
- Tori Butler, Managing Director – SME
- Stephen Taylor, Managing Director – Specialty
- Gail Kozlowski, Managing Director – Partner Success
Tori will lead the continued growth of our digital and offline SME division. Stephen will drive advised broking for high-growth businesses across the UK and EU. And Gail will accelerate the development of strategic partnerships with major brands.
These promotions reflect the strength of our internal talent and our commitment to backing ambitious leaders as we scale.
As CEO, Chris Barclay, puts it:

We are not just improving the broker model. We are reshaping it. Superscript is building the UK’s most progressive SME insurance distribution business, driven by powerful distribution, expanded product and carrier breadth, and technology-enabled operational excellence.
The launch of our Glasgow hub strengthens our access to exceptional talent as we scale. The promotions of Tori, Stephen and Gail reflect the strength of our internal capability and our commitment to backing enterprising leaders.
Our ambition is clear: to become the UK’s number one SME insurance distribution business and the employer of choice in the broker market.
— Chris Barclay, CEO
Building what modern broking should look like
We’re building for the long-term. That means investing in technology, expanding carrier breadth, strengthening partnerships and continuing to attract exceptional people across the UK and Europe.
This is an exciting moment for Superscript — and we’re just getting started.
